Fashion Forward Friday

Lace

It's been two weeks since we explored the world of fashion. So today I have a doosy for you. Lace. LACE!

Remember this?

Yeah. Me too.

Well there are modern ways of wearing lace too. Like this:

Or this:

While I have a few lace pieces today, nothing can ever surmount my lace love back in the day.

This is a photo from Easter 1989. I wore a Jessica McClintock dress that my sisters purchased from the Jessica McClintock outlet in San Francisco. It was sea foam green satin with white lace overlay. This dress had layers and layers of lace trimmed with more lace. The lace had its own lace! And it had shoulder pads. IN A LITTLE GIRL'S DRESS. Need I say more?

To finish the outfit, white tights and white patent shoes. My hair was styled into a french braid and bang pouf.

And this is the glamour shot. Because nothing says glamour like posing in a yard full of weeds next to a yellow kidnapper van.

I think I would actually call these photos from 1989: How Not to Wear Lace. But that's just me.

  1. I love your Fashion posts! You are too funny. I keep meaning to post other comments, but never do. Not sure why because there is always something good to say about each of your posts.
I sure wish I had someone to do my hair as cute as yours.

  5. As soon as I saw the pic, I thought, that's got to be a Jessica McClintock! I remember taking trips to that outlet in SF. And coming home with awesome dresses from said outlet. Who doesn't love the 80's?!?
